School Board Names Jared Fulgoni as Interim Superintendent, Effective July 1

At the June 12, 2025, School Board meeting, Chair Shane Downs nominated Jared Fulgoni to serve as interim superintendent, effective July 1. He will replace Dr. Alison Bryant, who is leaving to become Assistant Superintendent for SAU 16 in Exeter.

Bryant had been temporarily filling the role while Superintendent Azarloza was placed on leave earlier this year.

School Board member Matthew Pappas noted that New Hampshire state law requires all school districts to have a superintendent, stating, “Until the situation is resolved, we need someone here.”

Fulgoni, 58, lives in Eliot, Maine. He earned a Master of Education from the University of New Hampshire, a Bachelor of Arts from Plymouth State University, and completed graduate coursework at Harvard University.

He holds administrative certifications in Massachusetts, New York, and New Hampshire, including licensure as a superintendent and principal.

Fulgoni’s recent positions include Superintendent of Schools for Regional School Unit #63 in Maine and previously for Amesbury Public Schools in Massachusetts. In these roles, he led strategic planning initiatives, introduced new pre-K and special education programs, and oversaw multimillion-dollar school construction projects.

The School Board approved Fulgoni’s appointment, with only one member, Sandra Keans, voting against the nomination.
