On Thursday, June 30, Waterstone Properties Group welcomed community leaders, project partners, and local officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of Cedar Landing at the Ridge, a planned $400 million mixed-use development on Route 11.
The 26.5-acre project will include more than 220 residential units, retail stores, restaurants, entertainment venues, healthcare services, banking, a fitness center, walking trails, and public gathering spaces. Confirmed tenants include Service Credit Union, a Wentworth-Douglass Hospital/Mass General Brigham emergency department, Crunch Fitness, and 7 Brew Coffee, with additional businesses expected to be announced as agreements are finalized.
During the ceremony, Waterstone representatives said the project has evolved significantly over the past several years to better meet changing community needs, shifting from a traditional retail and office development to a mixed-use destination that combines housing, shopping, services, and recreation.
Mayor Chuck Grassie reflected on the city’s long-term planning efforts that helped make the development possible, stating, “This Waterstone development fulfills the plan that our city developed over 20 years ago.”
“Cedar Landing at the Ridge represents the next evolution of Rochester’s commercial and residential growth, delivering a modern destination where people can live, work, gather, and experience the best of New Hampshire,” said Grassie. “The three phases of the Ridge, when completed, will be a major job creator and an important commercial, residential, medical, and entertainment attraction for northern Strafford County and the Lakes Region.”
“We look forward to working together to see the completion of this phase, the improvement on Route 11, and what may come for the future North Ridge development,” Grassie concluded.
Construction is expected to continue as additional tenants and project details will be announced.
