Rochester’s Office of Economic Development, in collaboration with the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and NH SBA, is pleased to announce a Small Business Resource Workshop – “Small Businesses Thriving in Rochester” on Tuesday, August 29 from 8:00 am to 10:30 am, at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital Community Education & Conference Center, 11 Whitehall Road.
Rochester-based business owners will discuss why they chose Rochester and the benefits of doing business in the City. Meet your local business advisors and mentors that provide 1-on-1, individualized guidance and training opportunities to area businesses and some of the local clients they serve.
According to Jenn Marsh, Assistant Director of Economic Development, “This is a great opportunity for small business owners to interact with other business owners and learn about resources to support small business success.”
After welcoming remarks by SBA New England Regional Administrator, Mike Vlacich, and Rochester Mayor Paul Callaghan, there will be two-panel discussions:
- Unleashing the Entrepreneurial Spirit, Moderated by Michael Scala, Rochester’s Director of Economic Development. Local business owners will share their journey and tips for owning and managing long-term small businesses and the benefits of doing business in the City.
- Building your team of resources for the long haul, Moderated by Amy Bassett, SBA’s NH District Director. Learn about local business resources that can guide you in planning now for your business 10+ years from now. Panelists will include business advisors from SCORE, NH Small Business Development Center, and Center for Women Enterprise, as well as local lenders.
