The Department of Public Works is beginning its search for a Christmas tree donation for the annual holiday display in Central Square.

According to Public Works Deputy Director Jennifer Marsh, the City is seeking a Balsam Fir or Blue Spruce in good condition, adding, “The tree must be located within city limits and should be approximately 25 to 40 feet tall. A single trunk with one top (no split tops or trunks) is preferred.”

SavATree Service will remove the tree from the property. Location and ease of access will be considered. The City tries to avoid power lines or fencing that would need to be removed.

“We look forward to this tradition every year,” said Marsh. “Thank you to the Rochester community for supporting this effort!”

Anyone interested in donating a tree should contact Public Works at (603) 332-4096 by Friday, October 23, 2026.
