Rochester Elks Lodge #1393 Awards four $1,200 Scholarships to Spaulding High School Seniors

During the Spaulding High School Awards Night on Wednesday, May 17th, the Rochester Elks Lodge #1393 awarded four $1,200.00 scholarships to deserving seniors.

The scholarship committee, chaired by Past Exalted Ruler Jerry Skidds, includes Cindy Skidds, Sue Cook, Kelly (Cook) Kasprzyk, Don Martin, Patty Taylor, Dennis Dube, and Don Abbott. The committee credits various fundraising activities and financial contributions from Elks membership for supporting the scholarship fund.

According to Skidds, the scholarships were awarded based on family membership in the Rochester Elks Lodge, along with consideration and evaluation of the student’s high academics, leadership, community service, and citizenship.

Scholarship recipients included Amy Powers, Colin Bissonnette, Haley Faucher, and Kendall Gadbois, who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in academics, leadership, community service, and citizenship.

“We are thrilled to award these scholarships to such outstanding students who have made a positive impact in their school and community,” said Skidds. “We congratulate all the 2023 scholarship winners and wish them continued success in their future endeavors.”

On behalf of the Rochester Elks Lodge, the Scholarship Committee encourages community members to learn more about its initiatives, including the newly established scholarship fund, which was founded in August 2022.
