Fall Yard Waste Collection Begins October 27

The City of Rochester is reminding residents to properly dispose of yard waste this fall.

Curbside collection will take place on regular trash days during the weeks of October 27–31 and November 3–7, 2025. Yard waste must be placed in brown paper leaf bags, and brush should be cut into three-foot lengths and bundled.

Residents may also drop off yard and leaf waste at the Turnkey Drop-off Center on 18 Isinglass Drive, open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The City reminds residents not to place yard waste in trash or recycling barrels, or near storm drains, ponds, or wetlands, as it can pollute waterways with fertilizers and pesticides. Homeowners are encouraged to mulch or compost grass clippings and leaves to enrich their lawns.
