Franklin Gallery Presents “From Seaside to the City” by Local Artist Pete Weissbrod

Published on

The Franklin Gallery at RiverStones Custom Framing, 33 N. Main Street, Rochester, will host a December exhibit entitled From Seaside to the City, featuring the work of local artist Pete Weissbrod. This exhibit presents a progression of liminal scenes—starting coastal in the morning and daytime, moving through the forest, and finishing with city scenes at night.

Pete is from northern New Hampshire and currently works out of Kittery Point. He grew up in the White Mountains and previously worked as a forest ranger. His focus is on liminal spaces of recognizable local scenery, using a minimal palette. The observer is invited to recognize a familiar scene through a lens of radiant colors, strong lines, and fluid motion. The hope is to revive a brief memory of joy and a sense of reverence for everyday scenery.

The Franklin Gallery and RiverStones Custom Framing are open Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Unless otherwise indicated, all exhibited Franklin Gallery artworks are available for purchase.
