Recently, Governor Kelly Ayotte applauded the New Hampshire House for advancing a proposal to create a tax credit for businesses that invest in childcare for their workforce and encouraged the Senate to pass it.
“We need to address the rising cost of childcare to help families thrive and keep our economy growing, and I’m glad to see the House pass a tax credit to encourage businesses to help meet this need for their workforce,” said Governor Ayotte. “I look forward to working with the Senate to get this important program to my desk so we can partner with our business community to expand access to affordable childcare.”
Under Governor Ayotte’s leadership, New Hampshire has expanded access to childcare scholarships and reduced the administrative burden for scholarship program providers and applicants. In her State of the State address last month, the Governor advocated for the creation of a business tax credit program to incentivize companies to co-locate or invest in childcare for their employees.
