Governor Chris Sununu, New England Governors Meet with Energy Secretary Granholm

Published on

On September 15th, Governor Chris Sununu issued the following statement after meeting with a bipartisan coalition of New England Governors with United States Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm:

“I would like to thank Secretary Granholm and my fellow Governors for meeting today,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “Across New England, high electric prices are hurting families. During the meeting, I shared my grave concerns regarding supply and reliability of natural gas this winter. New England is at the end of the transmission line, and if we do not have enough access to natural gas and heating oil, prices will skyrocket even further.”

Note: This meeting is a result of a request from all of New England’s Governors to meet with the Biden Administration following high electricity and heating oil prices across the region. A copy of the Governors initial letter can be read here.
