Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Hosts Sold-Out 1970s-Themed Raffle Event, Awards $10,000 Grand Prize

Published on

The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the results of this year’s Chamber Raffle! All 350 tickets were sold out prior to the event. Underwritten by Breezeline and Deepa Reddy, DMD, PLLC, a “Friday Night Fever” 1970s-themed event was held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Rochester Elks. In addition to the event for ticket holders, the raffle was also live streamed on the Chamber’s Facebook page for those wishing to watch from home. A reverse raffle drawing, sponsored by Deepa Reddy, DMD, PLLC, took place throughout the event, where the winning ticket of the grand prize was the last one drawn!

Tickets, sponsored by Service Credit Union, were sold for $100 each, with the grand prize being the winner’s choice of a 2024 Harley-Davidson Street Bob 114 motorcycle or $10,000. Four runner-up prizes were also awarded. The fourth runner-up, winning $100, was Michael Peters; the third runner-up, winning $250, was Dan Spencer; the second runner-up, winning $500, was Jamee Landry of Waste Management; and the first runner-up, receiving $1,000, was Steve Ring of Ring Plumbing Service. Our grand prize winner, Phil Boisvert, with ticket #47, was present at the event and selected the $10,000 prize.

The approximately 200 attendees and those who watched the event via Facebook enjoyed a 1970s-themed evening with Master of Ceremonies Matt Beaulieu of Service Credit Union, who made the night fun for all. The event included the reverse raffle drawing throughout the evening. Attendees enjoyed dinner items, sponsored by Palmer Gas & Oil, and dessert, sponsored by Laars Heating Systems. Our hospitality sponsor was Waste Management. Our registration sponsor was Holy Rosary Credit Union. The technology sponsor for the event was Daystar, Inc., and event programs were sponsored by ServiceMaster Disaster Associates, Inc.

Every ticket drawn during the reverse raffle process, except for the runner-up prizes and the grand prize winning ticket, was entered into “second chance” prize drawings for 30 different prize packages, with a total value of over $6,000. These second chance prize packages were generously donated by area businesses and organizations.

As a consolation prize for the unluckiest ticket holder, or the first ticket drawn, a Scratch Ticket Basket containing $200 in scratch tickets, sponsored by The Farmer’s Kitchen, was won by Robert Gonzalez.

In addition to the venue being decorated to the “Friday Night Fever” 1970s theme, many of our table sponsors participated in a Table Decorating Contest. The contest prize, donated by the Chamber, was won by Meredith Village Savings Bank.

A Musical Chairs Contest, sponsored by Bank of New Hampshire, was won by Kendall Spewock, who received a Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth speaker, donated by Breezeline, and a bag of swag, donated by Bank of New Hampshire.

An auction, sponsored by Ring Plumbing Service, was also held and consisted of three fantastic packages valued at nearly $5,000:

  • A Grill ‘n Chill package, including a $100 Hannaford gift card donated by Hannaford Supermarkets–Lilac Mall, a Hannaford gift card donated by Bob Addieg, a 4-burner gas grill donated by Hervey’s Tire Co., Inc., a 12-pack of beer donated by Ring Plumbing Service, 4 freezable beer pint glasses, a Cuisinart 20-piece BBQ tool set, and a 52 qt. Coleman cooler donated by Hervey’s Tire Co., Inc., and a 46” Outdoor Gas Firepit table donated by The Home Depot—all valued at over $700.
  • A Concert Package that included 4 tickets for the Tedeschi Trucks Band with special guest Margo Price at the BankNH Pavilion, with VIP parking donated by Eastern Propane & Oil, a $100 Visa gift card donated by Ring Plumbing Service, and a $100 American Express gift card donated by Abbott Equipment Sales—all valued at $1,000.
  • A 7-10 night luxury Caribbean vacation at The Club Barbados, valued at up to $3,225, was donated by Elite Island Resorts.

Attendees were also treated to a couple of special raffles for which they could purchase tickets. One raffle was for a Booze Bucket filled with 30 bottles of various liquors, wines, and a $25 NH State Liquor Store gift card, donated by members of the Chamber Board of Directors, staff, and the Chamber Raffle Committee. The other raffle was for a chance to win one of two firearms, donated by Sig Sauer.

The Chamber wishes to thank everyone involved in producing such a fun and successful event, including the committee members, raffle ticket sellers, generous sponsors and donors, The Rochester Elks, Harley-Davidson Shop of Rochester, second chance prize donors, ticket purchasers, and our fantastic volunteers! We are extremely thankful to all involved for their support.
