On May 1, 2023, at approximately 11:44 AM, the Rochester Police, Rochester Fire Department, and Frisbie EMS responded to 40 Winter Street, the Professional Arts Building, for the report of a 50-year-old female that had suffered a traumatic head injury during the morning of May 1st.
When Officers arrived, they located the single female victim in an office suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. Paramedics from Frisbie Memorial Hospital, along with assistance from Rochester Fire personnel initially stabilized the victim on scene. Frisbie Ambulance then transported her to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for trauma care. The victim remains at Portsmouth Regional Hospital in critical condition at this time.
The Rochester Police Investigative Services Bureau quickly identified a female suspect early in the investigation. As a result, of the ongoing investigation, arrest warrants for Haydee Rivera-Nadeau age 65 of Somersworth, NH were obtained charging her with; First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, and Attempted Second Degree Murder.
On May 3, 2023, at approximately 6:51 PM, Rochester Police Detectives were following up with information on the suspect possibly being in Charlotte Mecklenburg, North Carolina. Rochester Police Detectives contacted the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department to request their assistance in following up on the lead. Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department were ultimately able to make contact with Haydee who was taken into custody without incident and charged with being a Fugitive from Justice. Haydee is currently being held at Mecklenburg County Jail until arraignment. She will be arraigned in Mecklenburg County District Court on Thursday, May 4, 2023, between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
The investigation remains active at this time by the Rochester Police Department Investigative Services Bureau, with assistance from the Strafford County Attorney’s Office and NH Attorney General’s Office. Due to the nature of the active investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
