Rochester Public Library Announces December Programs for Teens

The Rochester Public Library Teen Room invites teens to enjoy a variety of events and activities throughout the month of December.

The Teen Fall Reading Program runs through January 1. Raffle prizes will be awarded at the end of the program, including an art kit, reading baskets, a LEGO kit, a Fire tablet, and more. Teens can sign up on Beanstack at: https://rplnhreads.beanstack.org/

The Rochester Public Library’s Teen Room is also pleased to announce that, in collaboration with the Rochester Middle School Book Club, students can pick up copies of the current books being read and discussed. “RPL is happy to provide these titles for students who wish to participate in the RMS book club,” said Teen Librarian, Amy Lemelin.

Wednesday Maker Sessions (drop-in, 2:30–4:00 p.m.; no signup necessary)

  • 12/3: 3D Snowflakes
  • 12/10: Sensory Bottles
  • 12/17: Friendship Ornaments

  • Interactive Elf Movie Experience – Monday, December 8 at 5:30 p.m.

Book Boxes have been added to the Teen Room’s offerings. Teens can fill out a form (available at rpl.lib.nh.us/teens) to receive two or more titles along with a few small gifts. Teens return the books and keep the gifts.

Teens are also welcome to drop by anytime to use the makerspace, play games, solve scavenger hunts, or check out a book or Playaway.

“These Teen programs are part of the library’s ongoing efforts to engage teens, foster learning, and provide a welcoming space for information, studying, socializing, and reading,” said Amy Lemelin, Teen Librarian. “The Teen Room is always evolving with our teens’ needs in mind.”
