The Rochester Public Library Teen Room invites teens to enjoy a variety of events and activities throughout the month of October.
The Teen Fall Reading program started on September 8th and runs through December 20th. Kids ages 11 entering 6th grade through age 18 can sign up anytime on the Beanstack app or at https://rplnhreads.beanstack.org/. Kids can earn prizes throughout the challenge and enter to win raffle prizes drawn on December 21st.
The Rochester Public Library is offering Spaulding NHS members an opportunity to earn volunteer hours by reading and writing reviews. This program is also managed through Beanstack: https://rplnhreads.beanstack.org/
Drop-in programs are offered on Wednesdays after school. Families are encouraged to refer to the calendar on Beanstack or the library website for more information.
Superman on the “Big Screen” is showing on Monday, October 19th at 5:30. No sign-up is necessary.
Sign-ups are open on the library website for Lego Coding on the 20th at 2:30 and Spooky Terrariums on the 26th at 6 p.m.
It is also worth noting that we have two growing groups of readers and writers that meet regularly in the teen room. No registration is needed.
Writing Group – Wednesday 14th @ 6 p.m. Book Group – Tuesday 27th @ 6 p.m.
“Teens are invited to the library to do homework, hang out with friends, create something or play a game in the maker space, read, or draw on the whiteboard tables. There is something here for everyone.” Amy Lemelin, Teen Librarian.
