Rochester Recreation hiring for numerous Summer Seasonal Positions

The Rochester Recreation Department is accepting applications for summer seasonal positions, including Summer Camp Counselors, Head Counselors, Outdoor Pool Lifeguards, Pool Attendants, and Pool Maintenance.

According to Assistant Director Lauren Krans, the summer seasonal jobs are traditionally good for high school and college students, however, she encourages people of all ages to apply.

“These positions can be great jobs for retirees, teachers, or parents looking to get back into the workforce,” said Krans. “Last year our staff ranged from 16-76 years old!”

Krans states that lifeguard candidates do not need to be previously certified because the Recreation Department offers an in-house certification program. The department also offers an ongoing training program throughout the summer called REED, which stands for Recreation Employee Enrichment and Development.

“Have fun, make an impact on your community, and help us achieve our mission of encouraging healthy lifestyles and cultivating meaningful community connections,” Krans concluded.

Contact Lauren Krans at Lauren.Krans@rochesternh.net for general inquiries. To apply, drop off a City of Rochester Employment Application at the Human Resource Office in City Hall, or email jobs@rochesternh.net.
