A message from the Rochester Opera House, a 501c3 nonprofit organization:
Step into the spotlight with an exciting lineup of theater camps designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and make unforgettable memories at the Rochester Performance & Arts Center (RPAC).
While there is a waitlist for our All-Age Center Stage Camp, we still have spots open for our Future Stars, Triple Threat Teen, and Broadway Bound Kids camps!
Future Stars runs from July 6–31, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for children ages 5–6. This half-day camp introduces young stars to acting, storytelling, movement, singing, and creative expression in a fun and supportive environment. Campers will build confidence using their “Actor’s Toolbox” while strengthening their imagination, focus, and performance skills. The camp concludes with a special Showcase Performance on Friday!
Triple Threat Teen runs from July 20–August 2, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is a full-day camp for performers ages 11–18. This camp concludes with performances July 31–August 2 in a fully staged Youth MainStage production of High School Musical, complete with costumes, props, and sets. The story follows Troy and Gabriella as they challenge the social cliques of East High by auditioning for the school musical, inspiring others to step outside the status quo and shine.
And finally, we have Broadway Bound Kids, running August 3–14, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for performers ages 7–12. This year’s theme is “Team Spirit!” The Showcase Performance for this session will be held immediately following camp on August 14 at 3 p.m. Team Spirit! celebrates individuality while showing campers the power of working together. Through themes of sports, teamwork, competition, and achieving goals, campers will build confidence, collaboration skills, and team pride in a fun and energetic environment.
From acting and singing to dancing and stage games, campers will experience the magic of live theater in a fun and supportive environment led by experienced instructors and performers. Whether a child is brand new to the stage or already loves performing, these camps offer something for everyone.
Can’t commit to an entire camp? No problem! There are plenty of opportunities for students of all ages at the Rochester Performance & Arts Center.
Studio 2 Stage is RPAC’s new music program for ages 10–17, designed to help young musicians grow their skills and confidence. Students participate in weekly group rehearsals, where they learn classic rock songs, music theory, and recording techniques, along with optional private lessons at 50% off regular rates.
Open to beginners and experienced musicians alike, the program helps students learn to play in a band setting while working with instructors, sound engineers, and acting coaches. Using professional-grade equipment, students build performance skills, creativity, and stage confidence in a fun and supportive environment.
Along with this innovative and diverse new program, we also offer private music lessons in voice, guitar, piano, drums, bass, and more! Come join the fun, learn from our experienced and passionate instructors, and be part of a community unlike any other.
As a nonprofit organization, we offer scholarships and financial assistance on a case-by-case basis to any student who may need support. Please contact us today for more information. Registration is now open, and space is limited. Sign up today! Visit www.rochesteroperahouse.com to learn more.
