Secretary of State David M. Scanlan and State Archivist Ashley Miller will host a special exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War in the sacred Hall of Flags at the New Hampshire State House.
The exhibit, open from April 30 through Memorial Day, will feature photos, letters, medals, and other artifacts left by the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall when it was displayed in New Hampshire in 1990.
The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall is a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., honoring the more than 58,000 individuals who lost their lives in the conflict.
Members of the public, veterans, and local media are encouraged to visit the exhibit.
David M. Scanlan, Secretary of State:
“This exhibit is full of poignant reminders of the ultimate sacrifice thousands of veterans made during the Vietnam War. We’re sharing these artifacts with the New Hampshire public to honor their memory and to recognize all our state’s veterans and service members.”
Ashley Miller, State Archivist:
“Just as we were preparing to mark the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, these artifacts surfaced, proving that history is all around us, waiting to bring the past to life.”
