Sign up now for the 10th annual Citizen’s Police Academy

The Rochester Police Department will be holding its 10th annual Citizen’s Police Academy starting in April 2024.

Citizens who participate in this program will be exposed to the many facets of their police department through presentations by department employees, hands-on training and ride-a-longs with police officers. Here’s your chance to learn and become exposed to what your police department “really does”.

The Citizen’s Academy class will meet weekly on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for eleven weeks starting on April 30 and concluding on July 9. All participants must be 18 years of age or older at the commencement of the Academy, or 15 years of age or older if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The class is limited to 20 participants and will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, with preference being given to Rochester residents.

Applications and Release of Information Authorization forms will be available at the Rochester Police Department. Requests can also be emailed to Captain Jeremy F. Aucoin. Applications can either be mailed or dropped off at the Rochester Police Department. A signature is required on each application.

Participants must pass a brief background check to include a criminal record check. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, April 16, 2023.

If you have questions, please contact Captain Jeremy F. Aucoin at 330-7147 or e-mail at jeremy.aucoin@rochesternh.gov
