The show never stops at the Rochester Opera House, and this September is no different!
We’re kicking off September with Reverend Horton Heat’s unforgettable rock & roll on September 7 at 7:30 PM. There’s nothing like the primal tribal rock & roll transfiguration of a Reverend Horton Heat show. Jim becomes a slicked-back 1950s rock & roll shaman channeling Screamin’ Jay Hawkins through Buddy Holly, while Jimbo incinerates the Stand-Up Bass. It’s like being magically transported into a Teen Exploitation picture from the 1950s that’s currently taking place in the future. The Reverend’s commandments are simple: ROCK HARD, DRIVE FAST, AND LIVE TRUE.
And on September 11 at 8 PM, Whitestake: The Whitesnake Experience brings the iconic sound and energy of David Coverdale and his bandmates to Rochester! Delivering a full-throttle concert experience, Whitestake captures the essence of the legendary rock band with soaring vocals, blistering guitar solos, and a driving rhythm section that keeps audiences on their feet all night long.From timeless hits like “Here I Go Again” and “Is This Love” to hard-hitting rock staples, Whitestake recreates the full Whitesnake concert experience with authenticity and intensity. Right after that on September 12 at 8 PM we welcome one of comedy’s most celebrated performers, Tom Cotter, for a night of razor-sharp wit and non-stop laughs.Tom Cotter made history on America’s Got Talent Season 7 as the first comedian ever to reach the finals. Beyond the AGT stage, Tom’s comedy credentials are second to none. He has appeared on The Tonight Show, Last Comic Standing, The Howard Stern Show, and Comics Unleashed, starred in his own Comedy Central Presents… Tom Cotter special, made multiple appearances on CBS’ The Late Late Show, and served as Celebrity Host of Gotham Comedy Live on AXS-TV. Styx tribute band Blue Collar Men sails onto the stage September 19th at 8 PM! Blue Collar Men is a high-energy tribute dedicated to celebrating the iconic music of Styx. Formed in December 2023, the band is committed to faithfully recreating the original album versions — from soaring harmonies and intricate arrangements to the powerful musicianship that defined one of rock’s most legendary acts. From arena anthems like “Renegade,” “Come Sail Away,” and “Blue Collar Man” to carefully selected deep cuts cherished by devoted fans, Blue Collar Men brings the authentic sound and spirit of Styx to the stage.
We’re thrilled to announce all the thinks we can think with our new hit musical, Seussical, running from October 16 to November 8! Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stif , My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime), have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!
