Chamber of Commerce announces winners of “Hula & Moola!” Raffle Bash

The Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the results of this year’s Chamber Raffle! All 350 tickets in this year’s raffle were sold out two weeks prior to the event. Underwritten by D.F. Richard Energy, a “Hula & Moola!” Hawaiian-themed event was held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Rochester Elks.

In addition to this event that is held for ticket holders, the raffle was also live-streamed on the Chamber’s Facebook page for those wishing to watch from home. A reverse raffle drawing, sponsored by Deepa Reddy, DMD, PLLC, took place throughout the event, where the winning ticket of the grand prize was the last one drawn!

Tickets, sponsored by Service Credit Union, were sold at $100 each with the grand prize being the winner’s choice of a 2023 Harley-Davidson FXBBS Street Bob motorcycle or $10,000. Four runner-up prizes were also awarded. The fourth runner-up winning $100 was Leslie Feliciano, the third runner-up winning $250 was Tara Webster, the second runner-up winning $500 was Harrison Thorp, and the first runner-up receiving $1,000 was Nate Faulkner. Our Grand Prize Winner, Brian Dickie, with ticket #183, was not present at the event but later selected the $10,000 prize.

The approximately 200 in attendance and those who watched the event via Facebook, enjoyed a Hawaiian-themed event with Master of Ceremonies Matt Beaulieu of Service Credit Union, who made the evening fun for all. The event included the reverse raffle drawing throughout the evening. Attendees enjoyed dinner items, sponsored by Hammond Lumber and Meredith Village Savings Bank, and dessert, sponsored by Laars Heating Systems. Our Hospitality Sponsor was Waste Management. Our Registration Sponsor was Holy Rosary Credit Union. Our technology sponsor for the event was Daystar, Inc. and event programs were sponsored by ServiceMaster Disaster Associates, Inc.

Every ticket drawn during the reverse raffle process, other than the runner-up prizes and the grand raffle prize-winning ticket, was entered into “second chance” prize drawings for over 30 different

prize packages, with a total value of over $5,600. These second-chance prize packages were generously donated by area businesses and organizations. As a consolation prize for the unluckiest ticket holder or the first ticket drawn, a Scratch Ticket Basket containing $200 in scratch tickets, sponsored by The Farmer’s Kitchen, was won by David Richard.

In addition to the venue being decorated to the “Hula & Moola” Hawaiian event theme, many of our table sponsors participated in a Table Decorating Contest by decorating their tables. The contest prize, donated by the Chamber, was won by Amber Dawn Interiors.

A Hula Hoop Contest, sponsored by Bank of New Hampshire, was won by Amber Roy, who received a $200 Visa Gift Card, donated by Breezeline, and a bag of swag, donated by Bank of New Hampshire.

An auction was also held that consisted of three fantastic packages valued at over $3,500:
A Grill ‘n Chill package including a Hannaford meat package and $100 gift card, donated by Hannaford Supermarkets-Lilac Mall, a 4-burner gas grill donated by Hervey’s Tire Co., Inc., a Growler of beer, glasses and carrier shirt donated by Muddy Road Brewery, a grill tool set, and 52 qt. Attendees were also treated to a couple of special raffles for which they could purchase tickets for a Booze Bucket filled with 30 bottles of various liquors, wines, and a $25 NH State Liquor store gift card, donated by members of the Chamber Board of Directors, staff and Chamber Raffle Committee. The other raffle was for a chance to win one of two firearms, donated by Sig Sauer.
