Community Action Partnership of Strafford County accepting Fuel Assistance Program, Affordable Housing Applications

Published on

The Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC) has announced the opening of the Federal Fuel Assistance Program for the 2024-2025 season. The program helps eligible households manage energy costs and stay warm during the colder months.

Priority applications are now being accepted for households with members aged 60 or older, those with a documented disability, households with children under 6 years old, or those using wood as a primary heating source. Non-priority applications will open on September 1st, 2024. Click here to apply online.

In addition, CAPSC is now accepting applications for two housing projects aimed at providing affordable and safe housing within the community:

  1. Senior Housing (62+): Applications are open for studio and one-bedroom affordable apartments at the historic Gafney Home located at 90 Wakefield St in Rochester. Residents must be fully independent. Rent ranges from $1,086 to $1,409 per month, subject to income eligibility requirements. Click here to apply online.
  2. Women-Only Housing: Applications are open for units at 576 Central Ave, Dover. This farmhouse-style, women-only rooming house is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Dover. Heat, hot water, and electricity are included. This property is limited to 50% and 60% HOME rent and income limits. Click here to apply online.

CAPSC encourages community members to share this information widely to ensure all eligible residents can benefit from these programs.
