Attorney General John M. Formella and Chief Gary Boudreau of the Rochester Police Department announce that Haydee Rivera-Nadeau has been sentenced by the Strafford County Superior Court for the murder of Lisa Rocheleau on May 1, 2023.

Rivera-Nadeau pled guilty to Second Degree Murder, in violation of RSA 630:1-b(I)(b), and to Falsifying Physical Evidence, in violation of RSA 641:6 on November 21, 2024. She admitted to recklessly, with extreme indifference to the value of human life, causing the death of her ex-partner by shooting her at her workplace in Rochester, NH.

After hearing statements from a number of Ms. Rocheleau’s family, friends, and community members, the Court has sentenced Rivera-Nadeau to a term of incarceration of 28 to 56 years in state prison, as recommended by the Attorney General’s Office. Rivera-Nadeau also received a consecutive sentence of 2 to 4 years for falsifying physical evidence.

“I extend my sincere thanks to our prosecution team as well as our law enforcement partners, especially the Rochester Police Department, for their thorough work during this investigation. The defendant’s plea of guilty with the accompanying significant term of incarceration is a reflection of the strength of the evidence marshaled during the professional, meticulous investigation of this case,” said Attorney General Formella. “My thoughts are with the family, friends, and the significant number of community members whose lives were enriched by knowing and loving Lisa Rocheleau.”

This case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley and Assistant Attorney General R. Christopher Knowles with assistance from Crime Victim Advocate Ashley Taylor.
