A message from the Rochester Historical Society and Museum:

This is a reminder to our members and members of the public that the Rochester Historical Society is pleased to have back a man who has documented the life of Bucky Lew, the first black basketball player.

Chris Boucher has re-done his fine story of Bucky Lew with much additional information. His book is a solid documentary and biography of a young man of strong character and talent who had an interesting connection to Rochester. Mr. Boucher will explain this during his presentation, which will be enhanced by visual material displayed on our large L.E.D. television screen.

This speaking event should be of prime interest to all sports-loving folks. In a much broader perspective, the story of Bucky Lew is an amazing adventure against the forces of racism. We welcome seeing you at the presentation on October 8th at 6 pm sharp at our museum on Hanson Street.

Sincerely,

Ralph Montgomery
RHS President
