Rochester Installs Several Public Computer Kiosks to Expand Access to Online Services

Published on

The City of Rochester is pleased to announce that computer kiosks have been installed in several municipal locations to make online services more accessible.

According to Chief Information Officer Andrew Watkins, the aim of the kiosks is to provide an in-person option for online services to better assist residents and customers who need special assistance or do not have access to the internet.

“It’s our hope that these kiosks will help city departments better assist the people they serve,” said Watkins. “The kiosks are free to use and offer a wide array of services and resources.”

The kiosks provide free access to city services such as eCode, GIS, Open Gov, Bill Pay, and Crime Reporting, as well as links to Rec Desk and the Rochester Public Library.

Users can also file Right-to-Know requests, view a list of municipal career opportunities, learn more about getting involved in local government, and access The Rochester Post, the city’s online hub for municipal news releases and community happenings.

Kiosks are located in Building and Licensing Services/Planning Department, City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, Recreation Office, Department of Public Works, Public Library, and Police Department.
