RMFA to present work by Jeff Fitzgerald, reception planned 5/12

The Rochester Museum of Fine Arts will exhibit a selection of works by Jeff Fitzgerald, in the Bernier Room, Suite 135 of the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center.

Jeff Fitzgerald is a York, Maine-based artist who works primarily in acrylic, graphite, and charcoal. Fitzgerald studied painting at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and has exhibited throughout New England and New York.

“The artwork is driven by color and its movement across the canvas. Brushstrokes build, conjure, and connect to the other half of my workplace,” said Fitzgerald. “A place to worship, lay bare and promote, the paintings are the twain, process unto subject. Am I Neo-Fauve, the tangle of Baroque upon Burchfield or Matisse-ism unchecked; yes to the group, a painter on the line, often coast. I am immersed blissfully, all five senses at play, recording, and editing. Sweeping, I offer a composition grounded, with energy that soars untethered.”

The James W. Foley Memorial Community Center is located at 150 Wakefield Street, Rochester, NH, behind Spaulding High School.
