Rochester Public Library Children’s Room announces a Summer StoryWalk® Series

RPL Children’s Room is excited to be collaborating with other community organizations to bring the STORYWALK® program to different locations throughout the city.

STORYWALK® provides an opportunity for physical activity while nurturing a child’s interest in books.

Pages from a children’s book are posted on signs and placed along a walking trail.  As you move along the trail, you are directed to the next page in the story.

The Children’s Room will be sharing this summer’s first StoryWalk® at the YMCA of Strafford County’s Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, June 5th 11:00am-2:00pm.  The event will be held at Camp Coney Pine located at 63 Lowell Street.

Other walks are planned throughout the summer at The Rochester Farmers Market, Pickering Ponds Trail, and one on the Library lawn.

“The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.  Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.”
