Bridge on Green Hill Road to receive maintenance, detours planned

Starting March 20th, the bridge on Green Hill Road will be temporarily closed for tree trimming. The maintenance is expected to last for approximately 3 days.

According to City Services Director Peter Nourse, the Town of Barrington plans to reconstruct the bridge in the spring.

“The bridge will be open until approximately May 1st at which point it will be closed until approximately October 31st,” said Nourse. “A full detour package will be deployed for both events.”

Nourse says the detour will channel traffic between Rt. 202 and Rt. 125 via Hansonville Road, Flagg Road, Gear Road, and Estes Road. Residents should expect increased traffic on these roads during the reconstruction.
