NH Highlanders Squadron to Host Civil Air Patrol Open House in Rochester on 2/5

Published on

The NH Highlanders Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) will host an Open House on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the James W. Foley Memorial Community Center, 150 Wakefield Street. The event will begin at 6:30 PM and is open to the public.

The Civil Air Patrol, an all-volunteer auxiliary of the United States Air Force, offers opportunities for individuals of all ages. Youth between the ages of 12 and 18 can join as Cadets, while adults aged 18 and older can serve as Senior Members.

CAP’s missions include Search and Rescue, Aerospace Education, and Cadet Programs. Attendees will learn about the exciting experiences available to members, including:

  • Cadet Flight Programs: Hands-on flight opportunities in powered aircraft and gliders with instructors.
  • Emergency Services: Ground and air search-and-rescue teams.
  • Leadership Development: Activities like Color Guard, drill teams, and more.

Senior Members can also contribute as aircrew members, instructors, or search-and-rescue team leaders. Licensed pilots have opportunities to fly CAP’s Cessna 182 aircraft or participate in glider operations.

The Open House will feature interactive displays and demonstrations, with Squadron members available to answer questions and share their experiences.

If you have an interest in aviation, leadership, or emergency services, join us at this informative event!
