RMFA showcases selection of original works by Jane Cohen in the Carnegie Gallery

The Rochester Museum of Fine Arts is pleased to announce “Paint / Paper/ Paste”, an art exhibition featuring works by Jane Cohen in the Carnegie Gallery, at the Rochester Public Library, starting March 3, 2025.

Jane Cohen is a New Hampshire-based mixed media artist whose work integrates painting, collage, and printmaking. Guided by intuition and experimentation, she has developed a distinctive visual language that merges memory and invention.

Cohen earned a BFA from the University of Kansas, where she was recruited by Hallmark Cards to write and design for their contemporary card line. A visit to Boston led her to relocate from the Midwest, where she became an award-winning art director for Breznick Advertising, working on accounts such as State Street Bank. She later transitioned to Boston College’s publications department as a designer and illustrator.

After moving to New Hampshire, Cohen taught in the art department at Hawthorne College before founding a successful graphic design studio. One of her first clients was the League of NH Craftsmen, for whom she designed the organization’s logo. Throughout her design career, she maintained an active painting practice, eventually closing her business to focus exclusively on her studio work.

Now a full-time artist in Canterbury, NH, Cohen has been an artist-in-residence at The Atlantic Center for the Arts and has exhibited in galleries and museums across Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire. Her work is held in corporate and private collections.

“Paint / Paper/ Paste” will be on display until May 2, 2025, with a reception planned for April 5, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The public is encouraged to attend. The Rochester Public Library is located at 65 South Main Street, Rochester, NH 03867. Visit janecohenartist.com and www.rochestermfa.org to learn more.

The museum gratefully acknowledges the generous support of its corporate sponsors, community partners, and collaborators, including the City of Rochester, Meredith Village Savings Bank, Bernier Insurance, Back Hill Beer Co., Creative Guts Podcast, and the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce.
