Roadway painting begins 6/10, motorists advised to exercise caution and avoid crossing lines

The Department of Public Works for the City of Rochester is working with a contractor to repaint yellow lines (dashed and solid) and white roadway markings starting tonight, June 10, 2024. This work will occur during the late evening and early morning hours throughout the rest of the month.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and avoid crossing white or yellow lines, particularly in areas where signage is present. Inadvertently crossing wet lines or passing the slowly moving paint trucks can result in paint splashing or transferring onto vehicles.

If your vehicle comes into contact with wet paint, wash it off as quickly as possible using soap and high-pressure water. The paint is water-based and will wash off, but it becomes more difficult to remove the longer it remains on the vehicle.

For safety and to prevent damage to your vehicle, please heed all traffic signs and be mindful of the painting crews working during these hours. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Contact the Department of Public Works at (603) 332-4096 for general inquiries and additional information.
